This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you where your own hairline would sit after a lift or whether an operation is appropriate for your health or your circumstances.
A lift is still an operation
A forehead lift is carried out under an anaesthetic, and the risks of bleeding under the scalp, infection, a healing problem along the incision, nerve weakness around the eye, altered scalp sensation and a widened scar apply. Nothing on this site should be read as saying that the operation is a small one.
No outcome is guaranteed
No treatment can be guaranteed. How much the forehead smooths, how the brow settles, how the scar matures and how much sensation returns vary between individuals, and the result is judged honestly at three months or later rather than in the first weeks.
Sensation and scarring are permanent concerns
The incision line does not disappear, and numbness behind it may be partial and long-lasting. Scars mature and soften over a year or more, and no surgeon can promise that a scar will be invisible or that sensation will return fully.
